RRR Fails to Make the Oscar Nominations List 2023

Indian super hit RRR created quite a stir at the box Office. Rajamouli’s directed movie was expected to create the same magic. However, it failed to feature in the top list. However, song Naatu Naatu did receive nomination at the awards.

Academy on Tuesday revealed the nominations for the Oscars 2023. Every Indian was hoping for Rajamouli’s mega blockbuster RRR would make the cut. When the nominations were revealed, RRR had failed to make the list of the nominations. Rajamouli’s epic movie was expected to list in the Best Feature Film as well as Best Director’s category. It failed to feature in both the categories. However, RRR bought a glimmer of hope as its song film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged an Oscar Nomination in the has ‘Best Original Song’ category. For the unversed, the song also had bagged the Golden Globe Awards in the ‘Best original Song’.

The song also won the Critics’ Choice Award in the same category. The film also bagged the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Apart from ‘RRR’, the Indian documentary ‘All That Breathes’ and the short documentary film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ also bagged Oscar 2023 nominations in ‘Documentary Feature Film’ and ‘Documentary Short Film categories.

The Oscars are going to be held on March 13 this year and while the wait is going to be quite a long one from now, the nominations have sure lifted the spirits of not just the crew and cast of the films mentioned above, but also of everyone who hopes to see an Indian movie bagging the prestigious award.
