Manasi Joshi, the India para badminton champion refused to give up after she lost one of her legs in an unfortunate accident.

Who is Manasi Joshi?

Manasi Joshi is an Indian para badminton player who has proved that we all can overcome the mountains of adversities with determination and positive approach. Manasi graduated in Electronics Engineering from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, University of Mumbai, in 2010.

Mansi is an example of determination

She lost one of her legs after an unfortunate accident on a bike when she was working as a software engineer in Mumbai. Aged just 21 then, Manasi refused to give up on life and found her passion in badminton to emerge as one of the best players in the world.

Her teammates and friends motivated her to try out for the national para badminton team. She was selected to represent India at the Asian Para Games in 2014 and rest is history.

As of today her World Rank is No. 2 and she has also been the para Badminton World Champion previously.

Awards and accolades

Manasi was listed as the Next Generation Leader 2020 by TIME Magazine in October 2020 and she appeared on their Asia cover.

She has also made it to the BBC 100 Women of 2020 list. The list from BBC includes those women who are leading the world and trying to make a change during these uncertain times.

Barbie celebrated her achievement by modelling a doll on her

On the occasion of the International Day of Girl Child (11 October 2020), Barbie celebrated Manasi and her achievements by modelling a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll to her likeness to inspire young girls.

Her success mantra  

Manasi believes in setting short-term and long-term goals in life. She plans each day in advance and makes sure constructive utilisation of time. She wakes up early in the morning and goes for her exercises. She keeps aside some part of the day for personal work and rest of the day for rest and recovery.

She does yoga and eats healthy food. She is also onto gardening that keeps her charged with positive energy. She is also a travel enthusiast and keeps herself updated with the latest happening all over the world.
