‘Casting Couch’ seems to have given sleepless nights to many Bollywood stars. In fact the term is used in Bollywood to highlight unethical favours asked from actors usually sexual in return for a role in the movies. Actors such as Ayushmann Khurrana and Ranveer Singh to Actresses Surveen Chawla and Kangana Rannaut admitted to have faced Casting Couch during their career. Although many actors have openly vocalized it, still it continues to haunt the Bollywood. Many males and female actors have complained being victim of casting couch. Serial Anupama’s leading lady Rupali Ganguly left Bollywood and currently the actress attributed Casting Couch the reason for that.
There is no qualms about the actress prowess, as she shot back to glory after a long sabbatical. Her comeback serial is nothing short of success as the audience appreciated her in and as Anupama. In a recent interview the actress recalled the struggles endured in spite of being a film maker’s daughter. Blaming the casting couch, Actress Rupali Ganguly Left Bollywood for a seven year break, the actress returned with Anupama in 2020.

Actress indicated about Casting Couch and said that she preferred to leave bollywood rather than fall prey to the Bollywood biggies. In spite of the movie background, she had promised her father to remain true and not indulge in anything unethical or demeaning. Irritated by the couch, she decided to venture into hotel management but at the same time, she also did plays. Also she mentioned that she needed to work as her father was not well. She did odd jobs such as boutiques, and waiter where she received Rs 180 an hour. Remembering her father’s words the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’s Monica said she always stayed firm on what she believed.
