Cannes Honours Tom Cruise, receives the highest award Palme d’Or Award at the Cannes
On day 2 of the Cannes Film Festival, Cannes honours Tom Cruise with Palme d’Or. Hollywood’s much loved actor Tom Cruise accompanied by Jennifer Connelly made an exciting entry in a Helicopter. As expected the Top Gun: Maverick’s premiere is expected to be highly energized and power packed. Long before the premiere started, the crowd ensured to make the evening memorable for the superstar. And they did. The actor received a roaring ovation from the Cannes crowd as he received a surprise Palme d’Or catching him off guard.

Cruise and his team were emotional during the Cannes speech as they received a standing ovation for 6 minutes. Additionally the response and love from crowd moved him to tears at the screening of Top Gun Maverick. Eight Fighter jets expelling smoke in red and blue matched the colours of the French flag. Thereafter the actor signed autographs and posed with fans and joined with his team for screening. Most tabloids reported that following a six-minute standing ovation that Tom to tears.

“This movie was a dream,” Cruise said. “We talked about it when filming. I just want to see everyone’s faces. There’s no masks and we’re in a movie theater. I’m going to take this all in and I feel very grateful. We’re here for you. I make all these movies for all of you and I’m very blessed to do what I do. Enjoy this evening. You all have made my life.” After thanking the crowd, Cruise called on the cast and crew of Top gun: Maverick which included Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, and Jon Hamm, and Paramount’s executive team to stand up, and the crowd cheered.

Day 2 of the Cannes 2022 celebrated the star aura of Tom Cruise. Additionally the audience were privileged to have a “Master Class” with the actor. The attendees received the montage of his greatest hits, from “Risky Business” to “Mission: Impossible.” Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick” was slated to debut in 2019, but due to lack of special effects it got postponed to 2020. After 2020, the Covid hit which delayed the event further. Tom Cruise looked dapper in a crisp blue suit over a white shirt, and kept his hair his hair messy . His co-actor Jennifer Connelly looked ravishing in a pinafore dress, minimal makeup, and sleek side-parted hair
