DC Universe’s first chapter is expected anytime soon. With the month of January already ending, James Gunn and Safran revealed the first few upcoming projects. However, this time the fans are looking forward to more female centric characters and stories associated with them.
There is a reason why the future of DC Universe is heading towards being female-centric. It is an irony that so far it has just introduced a few characters. Although there have been many female centric films in the DC Universe on the small screen, but nothing has been done on a big scale. And what is more intriguing is that these characters are catching up demand. Also, there is a niche audience for these stories, with being a fast-growing demographic in comic book entertainment. Black Window, Supergirl and Scarlet Witch 5 are some of the famous female characters that have caught the attention of the watchers. Similarly Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn have stolen the limelight.
Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, Female Centric Films in a Man’s World
Most of the leading characters in animations or comics seem to be largely a man’s world. And the same applies to DC side of things. Amongst the popular female centric films that rose to prominence were Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn. While the former had a own franchise, the latter was successful in making a mark.
Other characters Zatanna, Supergirl, Batgirl, Catwoman, Hawkgirl, and Black Canary all are major characters with rich comic book histories and stories. All the above stories could also work in a that would make for great film projects that could work large prospective. Expansion of these female centric characters can lead to higher responsibility roles. While Television has given us more female leads the scenario in the DC Universe is still bleak.

Jessica Jones, Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, WandaVision, and She Hulk: Attorney at Law all told strong and engaging stories in the Marvel Movies. Also, DC has also had some female-powered shows as well. Here is the list of the heroine led powerful shows:
