Sidharth Anand’s Pathaan created a storm in the country after the release of its first song ‘Besharm Rang’. What followed was a demand to ban the movie’s release. However, the Censor Board intervened in-between, and the movie finally released. However, the negative publicity has seemed to work for Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Some of the best scenes of the movie Pathaan have been shot in Dubai. Some of the scenes were so risky that they had to cordon the area around Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure in the world.
Since its release, the movie continues to break records. There’s been just no stopping for the SRK, Deepika and John Abraham starrer ‘Pathaan’ at the worldwide box office. The film released in Hindi, worldwide, grossed an estimated Rs 656 crore in eight days at the overseas box office. Also, the collections from all other formats take the film’s overall total to an estimated Rs 670 crore. With these numbers, the film has now become the highest grosser of all time.

Director addressing the above trend pointed out on the execution of the toughest action sequences ever attempted in Dubai.
“The toughest action to execute in Pathaan – one is on top of a moving train, one is mid-air with planes, one is in Dubai which takes place in the boulevard around the Burj Khalifa which no Hollywood film has been able to do this.”
“To shoot this sequence in Dubai, it just looked impossible. But the Dubai police and the authorities made it happen for us.”

Director thanked Dubai Police for the execution of the action scenes
Police could not have been more co-operative as they released the circulars in the city about closing of the Boulevard. One of the director’s friends who lives in the city confirmed this. Furthermore, he added that he felt humbled for what they did for the movie.
“I said I can’t believe it and this wouldn’t have been possible if they had not agreed to our vision and supported us wholeheartedly. So I want to thank the Dubai police and the authorities in Dubai.”
