Filmmakers denied Vikram Vedha PS-1 Clash a reason for the former’s debacle

Pushkar and Gayathri’s movie had created quite a buzz from the very first day. However, the movie turned out to be a disappointment from the day 1. Movie underperformed on most of the days. Although, the movie picked up during the Dusshera times, but the collection nowhere came close to that of PS-1. Hrithik Roshan and Saif starrer movie collection remained low even on a Sunday. The movie made just over 5 Crores. It just needs to be seen how it fairs on the weekdays. So far, the movie collection has touched 70 Crore. On the other hand, PS-1 overall collection is touching 350 Cr and is still running strong. While audience think that Vikram Vedha PS-1 clash has done the damage for the former, the director duo doesn’t seem to agree. When asked they had the following words to say in support. He also requested the reporters not to contest movies with each other.

“Actually not. I think our market is big enough to handle two or three films at the same time because there are just that many people who come and watch the cinema. So, if they want to watch it, they will watch it. If not today, then tomorrow. I don’t think the presence of another big film is going to hurt either one of the movies majorly. I think it is not right to pit movies against each other. We all love the cinema.”

Hrithik stars as Vedha, a dreaded gangster, and Saif Ali Khan plays a cop in the movie. Both actors’ performances in the movie have been praised. However, even as expectations were high for the film, it has been performing at an underwhelming pace at the box office.
